Shakespeare in Paradise 2012 – It’s On!

After the previews and student matinees, the 4th annual Shakespeare in Paradise theatre festival is officially underway. Our signature works, Merchant and Out o’ Wedlock have performances on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm. Out o’ Wedlock will also have a 2:00pm matinee on Saturday and Merchant will close with a 4:00pm matinee on Sunday followed by a reception. Merchant’s performances are at the College of The Bahamas and Out o’ Wedlock performs at the Dundas.

Starting Monday, October 8th, our second Bahamian work Speak the Speech opens at The Bahamas Historical Society for a four performance run which will include Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:00pm.

On Tuesday our international productions, from Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, will begin their three performance run. Mr & Mrs Blacke goes up at the Dundas Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday while Lion City Live performs at Hillside House on Tuesday and Thursday and at Nirvana on Saturday. These performances also begin at 8:00pm.

Out o’ Wedlock returns to the Dundas on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8:00pm and will also offer two matinee performances on Friday and Saturday at 2:00pm.

Our Festival Bar will take place both weekends (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) at Café Delancy. After the performances, members of the casts and production teams will head over to the café to unwind, eat, drink and socialize. You are welcome to join us and talk with the actors and crew or just hang out and have a good time.

Shakespeare in Paradise will close after the final performances on Saturday October 13th.
