SIP Officially Opens in One Week!

Friday, October 5th, marks the official opening of the 4th annual Shakespeare in Paradise theatre festival.

Student matinee performances of Merchant actually begin on Tuesday, October 2nd at the College of The Bahamas Performing Arts Centre.

On Thursday, October 4th we have special preview performances of both Merchant (at COB) and Out o’ Wedlock (at the Dundas) with discount tickets available for both students and seniors and general admission available to everyone else.

Please note that there are only three other performances of Merchant available to the general public: Friday and Saturday, October 5th and 6th at 8:00pm and the final performance on Sunday, October 7th, starting at 4:00pm. The Sunday performance will be followed by a small gala reception with wine and cheese.

Out o’ Wedlock will offer four performances during each weekend of the festival. As mentioned above, you can see the preview performance on Thursday with the other performances taking place on Friday, October 5th at 8:00pm, a 2:00pm Matinee on Saturday, October 6th and an evening performance, also on the 6th.

The second week of the festival, beginning October 8th, Shakespeare in Paradise will introduce our two international productions, Mr & Mrs Blacke, out of Jamaica, and Lion City Live coming to us from Trinidad & Tobago. Both productions will have three performances.

Our second Bahamian production, Speak The Speech, will also debut that week having four performances while Out o’ Wedlock will finish out its run with two matinees and two evening performances.
