Shakespeare in Paradise officially underway

Last night was the official opening of the 2011 Shakespeare in Paradise theatre festival. As we experienced torrents of rain in the afternoon, by six o’clock the sky had cleared and the sun came out and by the time as the reception started the Dundas patio was dry. The performance got underway shortly after eight and there was much laughter coming from the house for this second public performance of Dis We Tings 2011. The cast is back at work tonight at eight for another performance and then they take a break until Tuesday night.

There are other performances happening today and the first is a matinee of Julius Caesar at 2:00pm at the Dundas. Student and Senior discounts apply so if you are a student (college or high school) and you missed one of the matinee performances during the week, today would be a good day to catch this show.

Tonight out at Nirvana, starting at eight o’clock, there is the first performance of Pat Rahming alias Pat Rahming. Remember that there is food and drinks that can be purchased so you can think of this as Dinner Theatre. Come out, have a meal and watch a great Bahamian artist perform.

If you have any questions or would like to make bookings you can call the Box Office at the Dundas at 393-3728.
