Shakespeare in Paradise opens TONIGHT!

8:00pm at The Dundas Theatre. A reception will take place on the patio starting at 7:00pm. Our special guests for this performance will be the immediate family members of the late Kayla Lockhart-Edwards to whom this evening is dedicated and Derek Burrows the co-originator of the 1989 production of Dis We Tings and the writer of the show’s theme song.

By the time that this opening takes place four performances will have already happened in the festival. Three matinee performances of Julius Caesar to approximately 900 students on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and a preview performance of Dis We Tings on Thursday evening.

Plan your weekend with Shakespeare in Paradise. You can join us tonight for the opening of festival, come and see Julius Caesar at the 2:00pm matinee tomorrow, see Pat Rahming alias Pat Rahming at Nirvana tomorrow evening or if you can’t make Dis We Tings tonight there is also a performance at the Dundas tomorrow evening.

Shakespeare in Paradise takes Sunday off but will be back on Monday with a full week featuring 18 performances. Check out our schedule and call the Box Office at 393-3728 to book your tickets.

I supported Shakespeare in Paradise from the beginning, I am always pleased to witness the stage come to life, especially with the degree of professionalism and talent, I have seen on the local stage in the grouping of performances and works.
I can’t wait to see Shakespeare in Paradise 2011 and in years to come.

Keep up the great work and keep the Arts alive!
