Shakespeare in Paradise 2010 comes to an end

At around 4:30pm when the A Midsummer Night’s Dream cast take their final bow, the curtain will also come down on the 2010 Shakespeare in Paradise Theatre Festival.

With 8 productions and directors, 10 venues and over 100 participants, our 2nd annual theatre festival comes to a close.

We have so many people to thank and we will soon put up a special thank you post on our website for the sponsors who helped to make this all happen. Most of their logos are already on our website but some are not and we would like to recognize all of them.

For now we thank the performers and directors who have spent, in some cases, months working to make sure that our audiences would receive the very best theatre experience possible.

We thank those performers and guests of the festival who travelled here from as far away as the UK and those who came in from the US and Trinidad. We have not only appreciated their work but we hope that we have developed some wonderful friendships and working relationships that will last for years to come.

To the dedicated handful of people who make up the Executive Board of Shakespeare in Paradise and the smaller group that make up Ringplay Productions Ltd. we cannot express how grateful we all are for the endless hours of work taken away from families and full time jobs to get this all done. This a truly a labor of love for each one of us.

At the end of the day you, the audience, are what this festival is all about. We do it for you and you, by attending as little as one or as many as eight productions, allow us to continue to make this happen. We thank you for your support this year and we look forward to your continued support in the years to come.

And now we take a break to catch ourselves. The executive will go into hibernation for a short while to regroup and then we will come together again to begin planning the festival for next year.

By the way, there may still be some seats available for today’s matinee of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which begins at 2:00pm. So if you have not seen this delightful production, the Box Office will be open from 10:00am and will continue up to the beginning of the performance.

Thank you once again to everyone and we will look forward to seeing you next year!
