One Flesh is a mixture of two one act shows, Come Back to Me and Manikato. Come Back to Me, written by Jesse Cameron Alick, follows the secrets, discourse and religion of an African-American family. What follows is the day in the life of three siblings, Ryokan, Isis and Jude as they converse over the telephone and contrasts these conversations with their actual life. The cast features, Jesse Cameron Alick, Axel Avin, Jr, Teresa Avia Lim, Kimberlee Walkers and Donya K. Washington. The set and original paintings are by Edward Morris, costumes by Brenda Abbandandolo and Music and Sound Design by Lucas Cantor.
Manikato takes the Song of Solomon and reinterprets it from a West Indian point of view. Manikato is written by Philip Peters. This work re-imagines something bold.
Both productions directed by Donya K. Washington
